It all starts in Vancouver
I landed in Vancouver with a bicycle covered in cardboard and bubble wrap. The bike where still unscathed after the flight, but it does not really feel as if I have truly landed. The transition of soon living a life in padded cycling shorts and a handlebar positioned towards South America is confusing and exciting. I can feel the approach of adventure, unlike my swedish days of preparation when all my thoughts were occupied by what to bring and those that was left behind.
In Canada I was met by friendly new faces and continued to plan and pack for the journey. The supply of outdoor equipment was infinite in this city that rests between the ocean and the mountains. They had specific storm whistles for the mountain hikes, solarcamp showers for luxury camping and bear repellent for canadian walks in the woods. I did some light shopping as my bicycle allready awaited a heavy ride from Vancouver.
The city is truly sweet. The views of the mountains and ocean are hard to cycle away from. I have been living in a cute hippie-part of town for three days and been holiday cycling along the waterfront with stops for swimming and sunsets. It is however time to pack the panniers and dress up in my silly but sometimes cool cycling outfit, and discover the rest of America. Tomorrow I will cycle to the United States border with all my confusion and excitement. The adventure begins here.
Peace
Have fun Hanna! :)

I was so happy to meet you Pam, Dick and Jim. Now, looking back from the middle of the road in Bolivia I can still only agree with the song “What a wonderful world”.
